Browser Settings

For eCarleton to work properly, we recommend the following updates and settings:

  • Pop-ups: enabled
  • Cookies: enabled (with prompt or without)
  • Java: ensure you have an up-to-date version of Java by visiting http://www.java.com.

Browser Troubleshooting

  1. Check supported browser versions
    Check to see if your problem is related to known issues with your browser version, above.
  1. Clear your browser’s cache
    Clearing your browser’s cache may help to resolve problems such as trouble using drag-and-drop features, or trouble viewing the gradebook. See Clear Your Bowser’s Cache.
  1. Try a different browser and/or move to a different computer
    You may find it helpful to have more than one browser installed on your computer. If you run into problems using Moodle, moving to another browser may resolve your issues. You can also try moving to a different computer to see if the problem persists. This may help to discern whether your issue was a problem with your browser or computer, or with Moodle.

Mobile Device Support

Rather than listing or blacklisting devices that do or do not present Moodle correctly, we are aiming to create a list of recommended specifications for a device in order to have an optimum experience with Moodle.

Our minimum device recommendations are:
For Android devices – a 1GHz single core, or better device, with 512MB or more RAM. A resolution of 480×320 in Landscape mode is also recommended.
For iOS devices – Any device capable of running iOS 4 or greater is recommended.
