Upon reading the 2007 STM report,I feel that there are multiple connections that can be made from what I personally learned in this module and what the children had said. the Shakers and Mover's model did a good job in working to meet any challenges that were shown when handling the participation rights of children. This model allowed children to voice their opinions and challenges the policy decisions. the children had said that there is a gap between adults listening & hearing the children and actually doing something about what their concerns. The adults are listening to them but they aren't following but they aren't following it with an action. Although the Shakers & Movers model was created to get some changes, there still is not much happening. the children also stated that even though they are now given this platform to express their ideas/concerns, they do not know how to go about it. The model promotes participation in these discussions but fails to show them how to do participate.
