Exploitation is a complex and difficult term to define; it has many different meanings and it can also be applied to a variety of different people. Exploitation can affect children, women, men, disabled people and many others. Although when going through the module the main focus was on preventing the exploitation of children. A basic definition of exploitation would be treating someone unfairly and taking advantage of them while benefitting from it. As we learned while going through the module some factors that put children at risk of exploitation are poverty, lack of family, neglect and abuse and lack of education. Thinking about exploitation on a continuum is important because it gives us a better understanding of what exploitation is. Since exploitation is such a complex term and many different factors are involved it gives us an in-depth analysis on different types of exploitations and the people that are affected by it.
