Shaking Movers Model
The Shaking the movers model works to meet any challenges that are presented when dealing with the participation of children. The core values include, being focussed on the youth, rights based, we'll prepared, and the commitment to young people. While going through the model their were no gaps I could see, however my knowledge on spotting gaps in models is limited.
Compare/Contrast
This module has been very informative about children's rights to participation. The children in 2007 repeatedly say that they want to be heard. They have ideas that could impact communities but they are being pushed aside because they are kids, giving them the fear of speaking freely. They are findings that adults will tailor questions to youth to pull the answers they want rather than giving the youth a chance to really express their feelings and opinions.
They also mention that adult compare a lot of what they do to what has been done rather than the youth that is looking to the future to change things for the better. One quote that sums this up nicely was "Adults speak past, and youth speak future". There is a lack of education on children's rights.
