Both documents were written with the hopes of creating a world where children are safe and protected from any harm that will affect their physical, mental, social and spiritual development and give them opportunities with a full, inclusive education, love and affection and proper medical care in order for them to fulfill their potential.

The United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child written in 1959 states only 10 principles which tend to list many areas in one point, covering a lot of information with very little detail, meanwhile the Conventions of the Rights of the Child includes 54 detailed articles stating all the rights every child in the world deserves. The details and specifications from the CRC was an important clarification for international law.
