Canada was one of the few developed countries in the world who were missing a Children's commissioner to advocate for the children of the country. This person in parliament would be beneficial to all children in the world. As MP Irwin Colter states, "the true measure of a nations standing is how well it cares for its children." Perfectly exemplify how important having a representative advocating for the needs, views and rights at a national level will increase the levels of success for all children. According to Liza Wolff, it will help make them healthier, better protected from abuse, violence and prepare them for better learning. Attawapiskat describes how UNICEF takes care of other children in the world when in crisis but we don't have a representative to fight for the children in our own country have clean drinking water, shelter and access to education. The addition of Children's commissioner was well overdue and maybe there needs to be more than one representative to develop proper programs for the whole country in order to full accommodate for the children.
