Exploitation is a broad term that is difficult to define due to the fact that there are many circumstantial factors that need to be taken into account in order to establish whether a relationship between two parties is considered exploitative. Thinking about exploitation on a continuum allows one to be open to the possibility that there are various forms of exploitation, and that it is important to be able to recognize these exploitative situations in multiple contexts. As mentioned in the module, some forms that currently exist for children include forced marriages, child soldiers, and commercial sexual exploitation.
