Exploitation in the term is defined as the action or fact of treating someone unfairly to benefit from their labour. Since going over the module we have learned that there are many factors that put children at risk of exploitation. Some of these include poverty, lack of family, tourism, desire/need for money, neglect or abuse, and lack of education. The exploitation continuum allows for us to understand when and why it started happening, why it continues, and how we can help prevent it in the future. Child exploitation is a huge global problem and should be handled appropriately, but as one of the articles says; there are laws in place to protect children and their rights, but this does nothing if the laws are not enforced.
