When comparing the 1959 Declaration and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, many similarities can be found. For the most part, the points made by each text are there with the intent of providing specialized protection for children, ensuring their human rights are not taken advantage of. However, compared to simply stating the rights of children, I found that the Convention on the Rights of the Child text showed a greater focus into how the protection would be carried out, and stated more specific guidelines for social welfare globally.
