Exploitation refers to an unfair advantage one party holds over another. One party benefits while the other suffers as a result. It is important to think of exploitation on a continuum as there are many elements to exploitation and a wide range of people who can be affected. Thinking of exploitation on a continuum allowed for a broader range of understanding in which the degree of exploitation, type, and individuals involved can all be taken into consideration.
