Shaking the Movers Model takes a look at engagement with children and youth, to which I believe to be essential when considering and contemplating child participation in forums of policy and rights. What I found to be exception about this specific model was the use of the word "authentic" when considering participation. What is routinely discussed about children's rights is the fact that they are there in theory, however putting them into practice does not come so easily. To me, "authentic participation" denotes the importance of allowing and empowering children to use their true voices in times of policy intervention and implementation. This model allows children to use their voice and informed experience to "shake" those in charge of policy decisions.
