1. I think Children's Participation Rights matter because their voices should be heard in society and they deserve to have a hand in their own lives and decisions about their lives. Children have voices and desire to be heard regarding decision in their lives and how things affect them. They are experts of their own lives as Landon says and we need to respect their experiences and knowledge as the experts in what they need and want. They have ideas and plans just like adults that have the ability to make big changes in society that can help children across the world. We need to give them opportunities to express these views and use their voice, it is all about collaboration between adults and children. Their opinions need to be taken seriously so we can make better decisions regarding them, ensure policies affect their real life situations and help them in ways they desire to be helped or protected. They have the right to be heard and we need to give them chances to do so, just as Landon did by bringing children to speak and to share their ideas. She also did this by asking them about their experiences. They have a lot of knowledge, particularly regarding their own lives which this alone should promoter our listening to their voices more often.

2. The inclusion of participation of children in the UNCRC implicates that the States who have ratified the treaty must uphold this right and work to change the ways of their societies and policies to ensure this takes place. Children voices not being heard in policies can be that abusing them is far easier, and this abuse can be done in a variety of ways that is harmful and degrading to children and their capabilities. The states who signed on with the UNCRC have agreed to follow the articles it states and one a number of these have to do with children's participation. The implication of giving children opportunities to share their experience and be heard about important issues is an important way in which countries can follow the treaty. Often adults fail to listen to children and as was seen in the reading these can include: abusing our power over the,, not acting in their best interests, ensuring adult rights come first over children's, and leaving children out of the policies we make regarding them or public situations.

3. Children's participation rights have a great deal to do with citizenship and democratic processes that are inclusive and empowering. As a citizen of a democratic society a child has the right to use their voice and to express themself in things that have to do with them and other children. Democratic processes must be inclusive and empowering to all its citizens, including children, particularly when they have the right to participate in society as a full member with value. Children must be included and empowered, they must feel the processes of their society and their democracy respect their participation and provides them a space to be heard. The practices of society is an important place that must reflect the participation of the state in accordance with the UNCRC articles, including participation rights of children. Children are active in society and they are fully capable of being a contributing member in how their lives and societies are run.
