What Landon Pearson illustrates well is how adults tend to create rights and policy intended for children but failing to include the voices of children within this process. It has become so natural to disregard the child as a consequence of age, however this action is not beneficial to the child or surrounding society. The voices of children should be heard and thoughtfully considered upon the creation of policy and rights. An example of how we (adults) fail to do this is when decisions are made concerning their well-being/health without any consultation. There is this idea that "adult knows best", however when decisions are made without children, it is only demonstrating the weakness or vulnerability adults see in children. Children needed to be treated as active social agents within their own lived realities, and only when this is realized can we actually notice true change.
