Children as not fully human

I think Landon Pearson was correct in saying that we don't view children as fully human. As adults, we provide for children, ensuring their safety and development. However children's opinions and thoughts should be taken into consideration when making any decisions involving them especially those that are more impactful. However I do agree that the child's age and maturity should be taken into consideration. For example, a child's parents are going through a divorce and the child wants to stay only with his father because his father lets him stay up later at night. That isn't a valid reason for the child to only stay with the father and should be discussed with the child. However even if their decisions are "incorrect", parents should explain to them why it doesn't necessarily work that way. They should still be fully educated on why certain decisions were made.
